And So, It Begins

It has been quite some time since I’ve written things. It’s something about Texas that sucks the creativity out of me in a bad way. I have been thinking and observing the entire time. I attempted to write a couple times but when I finished the thoughts, I didn’t feel they were worth sharing. I watched many of my political predictions unfold almost exactly the way I expected them. There was no joy in being right, no desire to throw another I told you so out, or anything of the sort. For the first few days I was numb to the noise and disbelief surrounding me. Only able to offer a “yeah I expected this to happen” when folks shared their anger. The only extra sauce that I applied to my conversations at that point was “now I didn’t vote for this mu’fucka, but I knew it was coming” because I felt the need to let people know I’m not one of the sell outs that support him, just realistic about society.

It was relatively quiet for about 60 of those days between America’s display of hatred and amnesia to just before the inauguration. We saw some weird stuff happen, Biden pardoned his son, fully expected, but I didn’t give a damn bout that man in the first place. What I didn’t expect was the last minute (literally) pre-emptive pardoning of family, friends, and well-known folks that weren’t even on trial for anything. We may not know it now, but the moment was symbolic. That right there, was the last public display of genuine hope, albeit foolish hope. His actions require those that would want to do that to give a damn, and the system that has clearly broken down, to suddenly enforce it. The fact that he felt the need to do that is the alarm bell that went ignored.

I have stated many times in conversation, maybe once or twice here that I hate Woodrow Wilson. He’s only been dead for 100 years, but to me that isn’t nearly enough. In his first year as President, Bitch Ass Woodrow (BAW) instituted segregation in the U.S. Government, effectively eliminating many of the positions held by Black people at the time. Though women didn’t have a whole lot of rights recognized at the time, he was vocally opposed to them getting any further rights, until he saw a potential benefit to himself, then he was on board with it. He was one of those Southern Democrats of the day…basically equivalent to a Southern Republican of these days. There are some parallels between BAW and Hoe Ass Trump (HAT), and some obvious differences, but the intent is identical for both. Reinstate the Confederate.

It’s weird that I can now see two distinct cycles in our history. Going back to 1861, the country was beginning to erupt over views on slavery. Contrary to popular belief, honest Abe would have been cool with keeping slavery where it was, just not expanding it to new territories. The newly coined Confederate States of America disagreed and fired the first shots of the Civil War to maintain it. They basically lost the war, but every compromise was made to appease those worthless bastards except keeping full slavery as a thing. In 1865 Slavery was mostly abolished, Abe Lincoln got a peephole added to his thoughts, the nation entered this weird space during the reconstruction era, White men felt their grip on the nation slipping because Black people now had a voice, albeit one rarely listened to. By the turn of the century, folks were feeling a bit optimistic for some reason. Progress was being made, then BAW hit the ground and reversed a lot of the social progress. Nearing death, BAW realized the federal reserve stuff he instituted was probably done poorly, but then his bitch ass was dead before it could impact him.

The 1920’s saw income and wealth inequality at rates pretty much consistent with right now…the bottom fell out the ass in 1929 and it took the 2nd World War to get our nation back in the black. The United States needed Black American’s help for WWII, much like the Civil War. Ever willing to prove to the people that hate us we belong together Black folks were drafted, fought valiantly, died, and came home and we were still N-words and blocked from much of the economic progression that followed. The hatred was boiling over everywhere to the point these weak-minded assholes killed a 14 year old Black boy for “whistling at a White woman”. The civil rights era was born, the President publicly supporting it was JFK. He got far more than a peephole to his thoughts, the Civil Rights Act passed in 1965 thus ending that first 100-year cycle.

Problem is, much like the first cycle, the good ol’ boys from down south felt that Black had too much. The parties began to switch sides and then comes along Bitch Ass Ronald (BAR). He was credited with saving the country economically blah blah, but his plan is what led to the widespread income inequality we’re seeing today. Over the 80’s and 90’s some progress was made, the early aughts we were at war, but mostly united and then the Southerner’s nightmare came true. Barack Obama! 8 years of intelligent leadership, no scandals, was received poorly of course. Liberals mistook his election for a sign of a newer, kinder United States where EVERYONE could have their rights and feelings recognized as equal. Black people were being publicly targeted by police officers, so marches and things began for the new civil rights, the LGBTQ community started going hard to get their stuff recognized simultaneously. They got it for 20 minutes, then HAT comes along.

Policies from 2017 and 2020 began the process of royally fucking the country, income inequality is where it was 100 years ago. The social advancements of ALL racial minorities are being walked back thanks to a small racist group in the Asian American racial minority that was convinced by racist European American people that they were being unfairly passed over by African American people for admission into Ivy League schools.  As a result, that group that felt wronged saw Asian American admission rates plummet, African American admission rates stayed the same while European American admission rates went up again. Women’s rights…yup, those have been walked back as well, largely because one of the biggest proponents of Women’s rights, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, didn’t when to gracefully bow out, so the stubbornness she was celebrated for was also the X-factor in all her progress being shat upon. Also, because Democrats keep trying to play fair when their opponents don’t care about rules unless they’re losing.

So here we are, 2025 with HAT back in office signing bullshit executive orders and far less concerned with his legacy as he is with gaining absolute power. Much like BAW, HAT will be dead before the horror of his decisions are truly felt by the public. Either way we have to be real about why he’s here to fix this bullshit. He made it to this point because we have allowed stupidity to thrive. Our seeming addiction to the numbing agents of society (sports, social media, entertainment) is out of our collective control, but being used to control and tame us. I didn’t vote for that mu’fucka, but we got what we collectively asked for when we got comfortable at the first sign of progress and thought shit was sweet. I’ve watched a lot of basketball and it’s always hard for the stars to win the first ring, but it’s even harder to win 2 in a row. The talent is still there, it’s just dealing with a decreased hunger among teammates. The comfort of being on top is short lived if you don’t realize it takes even more effort to stay there.

That being said, this is a time for vigilance and action. I know a flurry of executive orders and shiny object promises will be thrown out. Project 2025 is underway and the ONLY pro to that is, we still have the playbook available to read. Instead of complaining, we need to be focused. I’m sure millions of people will be glued to reading the details behind the JFK, RFK, and MLK assassinations when it is released…but at the end of the day, all 3 of them will still be dead and at best your conspiracy theories will be confirmed or debunked. The real focus at that time should be on what legislation is being passed or negotiated at THAT time. This ain’t the same administration from 2016 that couldn’t distinguish shit from shoe polish. This is the advanced version of treachery, and these assholes are moving their confederate agenda through on fast forward. You can stay sleeping and numb to this fuckery or embrace being woke and truly prepare and be prepared for the bullshit. I’m still young-ish at the moment, but if history is indeed repeating, I’ll be a really old man or long dead by the time we’re getting the next version of civil rights observed. We can no longer hope for change, we have to actually be that change for our future’s sake.

  1. The best thing I’ve read in a very long time. Genius and scarily true. I brought up JFK and RFK AND MLK recently…maybe puppet vance is the target. Loony Toon Trump may be a distraction
