Just had a thought to share…here it goes.
I remember several years ago; a friend of mine was dealing with a woman that didn’t really have his best interests at heart. He would do absolutely anything for this lady and she would let him. Every now and then when he changed shifts, she would incorporate some new penis in her life unbeknownst to him. One day he came to work excited that his bonus check was deposited into his account. Though it had only been 5 months since he started dating that chick, he was ready to pop the question. In a fit of BRUTAL honesty, I told him, “if you propose to her, she’s gonna accept the ring and leave yo dumb ass”. I was clearly less refined then. His yearly salary outside of that bonus was about $26K before taxes, but he dropped $5K of his $12K bonus on this ring. He waited a week to propose to her, but I remember seeing him before he did. Nervous wreck, and I reminded him of how stupid it would be to put a ring on it. He did it anyway, and he had the best 6 days of his life with her up to that point. He proposed on a Friday night, they spent 6 straight days together, when he went to pick her up for a date the following Saturday, she was gone…never saw or heard from her directly again.
I’m not the type to kick anyone when they’re down, even in my less refined days. When he told us the story about what happened the Monday after he discovered she left, I looked at this man and I could sense just how broken he really was inside. As soon as I made an utterance he said “I know, I know, you don’t have to say it, you told me so”. I told him, that I don’t find joy in being right about this at all and that I hope she has the decency to return the ring (knowing she didn’t). I think that’s the best way to describe how I feel right now about being right.
Folks don’t listen to me
So roughly 8 years ago I stated “whoever wins in 2016 is going to be a 1 term President”. I was right about that. Four seemingly LONG years ago in 2020, I said Joe Biden is going to win the election even though he wasn’t the best Democrat choice. I also said, if he really wants to do right by the nation, he’ll win, get the ship sailing in the right direction, then step down for a younger Democrat to try their hand. I didn’t foresee Donald running again because I never thought they’d actually attempt to prosecute a former President that is Caucasian. Since he had open cases though, he needed to start running to avoid jail time. As soon as I found out he was back in the race I said “he needs to drop out, he can’t win this one”. As the GOP primaries progressed, I reiterated how insane this was and even voiced my disdain for the choices forced upon us.
Here we are, roughly a week after that crazed virgin made a public spectacle that almost assured Biden won’t win. Americans love drama and survivor stories, but they don’t give two shits about old people not directly related to them…sometimes not even them. That said, it’s looking worse for ol’ Joe by the day. This is one of those moments where I don’t have to say it to say it. You already know where I’m going, no need to insult your intelligence. I will say that we as a group of civilized people will need to prepare for some true bullshit come January 20, 2025. I’m confident to a very small degree that there are some people that vote red, also see the lust for tyranny in his eyes and they support blue candidates for the Senate and House, because even they know Donald Trump should not be granted unchecked power. Hell, even his VP pick, JD Vance was once realistic about Trump. Not that it matters now, he’s running with the hateful shit for brains known as Donald J. Trump and from the outside looking in, he’s not faking it.
Honestly
I find no joy in being right about this Presidential election, but I am oddly optimistic about folks voting blue on the rest of the ballot. Those would be the people that understand Project 2025 AKA the plan to turn the U.S. into the Confederate States of America. Sadly, I have encountered more Black and Brown Trump supporters, NONE of whom know shit about this agenda. They are focused on the superficial stuff (Loan rates, Biden’s age, how inflation has hit them, their distaste for LGBTQ support). Granted, most of those are legit, the rebelling against gay stuff is not needed, though I understand why those folks feel how they do. I don’t share their beliefs, but I see what they mean. However, I would rather every commercial be a clip of Pride month over the fuckery captured in Project 2025. I think I’ll expound upon that thought before taking another hiatus from writing.
Look, I’ll say it right now, barring some amazing stroke of good luck for the Democrats, Trump will win in November. Think I just threw up in my brain a lil bit. It’s not our fault, I blame the DNC for forcing Hillary and Joe on us in those years. I blame Joe Biden for not being self-aware enough to gracefully bow out when there could have been a true Democrat contender identified. I guess to a small degree I blame the folks that genuinely thought he was the best choice in 2020. He wasn’t, especially in a “never Trump” year when sensible Republicans were willing to vote for just about anyone over this maniac. The Democratic party was unified in the mission of stopping Trump, and we dropped the ball with Joe and Kamala as if we weren’t watching the primaries. I digress for now.
